I hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and doing well. There is no doubt that these have been challenging times. We have all had to pivot quickly from what we were used to doing, to this new normal. Looking back, this may have been a great reminder to all of us that in life we need to remain flexible because change is often the only constant.
Over the past three months I have had to make a few adjustments to my workspace at home. My kids were home as schools were closed, my husband’s business was shuttered and therefore he was also at home. Therefore, we had to figure out what was going to work best for everyone. That took some time. Some trial and error. It is not fancy, but I believe that today we have found something that worked for us.
Working from home, I have kept a similar schedule as I had prior to working from home. I still get up early to exercise and meditate before starting my workday. At work, we have had to navigate a fair amount of new procedures and platforms to enable our clients to digitally sign documents. All my meetings were moved to virtual platforms. Team meetings, market updates and all of our business development efforts now have to be done virtually. In times like these you have to think outside the box. I felt like I had to reinvent myself.
Overall, as with all other of life’s challenges and changes, I have to say that I am adapting well to working from home.
The Edmonton Women in Finance is going to host some great virtual event this fall. Stay tuned for more details.
Stay safe and thank you for reading!
